Post Season Reminder

Post season will start Saturday October 25, 08 and the following is the 2008 Post Season Seeding System. Seeding, opponent, location, and game time will be announced no later than Monday 10/20/08 by 5:00pm. (All location scheduling will be based on league need first, not solely seeding.)

Note* Teams who wish to add a GEYF lower level player and or players from within area to their current team roster must notify the league office, apposing head coach and respective GEYF Area Representative by 5:00pm the Monday preceding each post season game. Failure to do so will result in lack of eligibility for the proposed players for that week’s game.

Please Note*

Any player, who plays a minimum of one play with an upper level team during regular and or post season play, will be unable to return to the lower level.

GEYF Teams seeded (1) through (4) in all divisions will have the opportunity to advance with a victory in the 1st Round of Post Season.

(1) vs. (4)

(2) vs. (3)

GEYF Teams seeded (5) through (7) will play cross conference consolation games without the possibility of advancing even with a victory.

(5) vs. (5) Cross Conference

(6) vs. (6) Cross Conference

(7) vs. (7) Cross Conference

Post Season Seeding Criteria:

Phase (1) Conference Record

Phase (2) Head to Head

Phase (3) Overall Record

Phase (4) Points Allowed in Conference

Phase (5) Points Scored in Conference

Phase (6) Coin Toss

Phase (1)

Best in – Conference Record

In the event of a tie record:

Phase (2) Head to Head

Phase (3) In the event of a multiple tie with all teams in division beating each other respectively and having the same in conference record, GEYTF will look at overall record including out of conference games. The team or teams with the best overall record including out of conference play will receive the higher seed.

Phase (4) if all respective teams have identical overall records and have beaten each other respectively, we will go to the most points allowed in Conference scenario. The team and or teams that have allowed the fewest points scored in conference will receive the higher seed.

Phase (5) if all respective teams have identical overall records and have beaten each other respectively and have all allowed the same points in conference we will go to the most points scored offensively in conference scenario. The team and or teams that have scored the most points offensively in conference will receive the higher seed.

Phase (6) if phase 1 through 5 cannot break the tie, then GEYF will go to a multi – party coin toss with the odd man out.
