The Arvin Grizzlies would like to dedicate their 20th season

to the Memory of Calvin Wren

The Arvin Grizzlies lost a great coach and close friend last week.  On Friday, March 16th, Calvin Wren was killed in a collision near Tehachapi.  Calvin was 40 years old.

For most of us that knew Calvin,  we can say one word "passionate".  He loved football and the kids he coached.  Calvin coached the Grizzlies Freshmen team.  Even in defeat he would have positive words for everyone and he always had a smile on his face.  Calvin was hardworking; dedicated; and a loving friend, coach and father.  He will be truly missed.

He leaves behind his wife and 4 wonderful kids.  The Grizzly family would like to make sure that some things are taken care of for his family.  Any donations would be greatly appreciated.  If you would like to make a donation, please contact me at 852-1031 or make your donation at a Bank of America, account number 04155-61530

"Hey Cal, how’s it going?"

Those words were all we needed to say to engage in

conversation with you. We will miss saying those

words dearly.

Even though you were with us for a short time; we

understand that we lost a great coach.  We will miss

your passion, positive words, never say die spirit and

most of all, your smile.

Our kids benefited from your persona and caring

ways.  It seems unimaginable not to see you at

meetings, practice or pacing the sidelines before every

game.

One thing for sure Cal, our kids loved you! You gave

our kids a positive experience on and off the field.

We are truly grateful for your dedication to our kids.

We keep thinking that heaven needed a football coach

and that’s why you were taken from us so soon.

Well friend, heaven got the best coach we had.  We

know you will keep your eye on our teams, cheering

for us and yelling across at the opposing team saying

“The Grizzlies got spirit, how about you?”.

All we know Cal is that heaven's now a greater place.

You're a true friend, coach and father.

We love you Cal and we will dedicate the 20th year

of Grizzly Football in your memory.

See you on the sidelines friend....
